The UK Pool & Spa Awards has once again re-written the record books with more entries, more companies and more nominations than ever before in the competition’s history. Returning, by popular demand, to The Vox Conference Centre, on the top floor of the Resorts World building at Birmingham’s NEC, on Monday December 10th, admission is strictly a ticket-only affair. The popular annual gathering will once again begin with a business networking drinks reception, sponsored by water treatment specialists Lonza UK, whose hth brand will be celebrating a remarkable 100 year anniversary. Guests will have the opportunity to meet with all of the companies involved in sponsoring the awards, their support vital in raising the profile of the industry as a whole. An informal buffet dinner will precede the hotly-contested prize ceremony when the finalists will be photographed with the event’s VIP guest, eight times world record holder and television personality, Mark Foster.

MULTIPLE AWARDS
Following a tried and trusted formula, certificates will be awarded to entrants at gold, silver and bronze standards with the best in the categories receiving a coveted trophy. On-line voting, accounting for 40 per cent of the judging vote, crashed through the 2,000 mark this year. More judges have scrutinised the entries and awarded marks that amount to 60 per cent of the vote. Finally, those results are checked and verified by an independent jury before the winning projects, products and people are confirmed. “As well as providing a major publicity boost for individual companies and the industry as a whole, the Awards give us an insight into industry performance levels,” comments Christina Connor, Managing Director of event organiser, Waterland Media. “One of the tangible trends in hot tubs and swim spas this year, has been the surge in high ticket projects, with the average sales increasing by up to 40 per cent,” she reveals. “What is also noticeable is how companies are not just supplying the hot tub or swim spa, but completing the whole project, part of a home health and lifestyle transformation for many customers.” Usually a sell-out, it is best to contact the Waterland team to check on last minute ticket availability. As the competition continues to grow organically, enhanced sponsorship opportunities are also available for companies that would like to become involved with an outstanding marketing opportunity for not just individuals, but for the entire sector.
